Dawn AAC for iPhone & iPad

Privacy policy

Effective August 28, 2026. Applies to the Dawn AAC app for iPhone and iPad.

The short version

Dawn collects no data. There is no account, no analytics, and no Dawn server. Your words, your recordings, and the voices you create stay on your device. We could not read them if we wanted to, because they are never sent to us.

What Dawn collects

Nothing. Dawn has no sign-in, no analytics or advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting service of its own, and no server. The app does not send your messages, recordings, voices, boards, photos, or usage to us or to anyone else.

Your voice and your words

Backups you make

Dawn can export a full backup on request. That backup is a file handed to you, saved where you choose, such as the Files app or your own iCloud Drive. Dawn never uploads it and cannot see where you put it. If you store a backup in a cloud service, that service's privacy terms apply to the copy you placed there. Your device's own iOS or iCloud backup may also include Dawn's data; that backup belongs to you and is governed by Apple's terms.

Purchases

Dawn's subscription is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and knows what you bought under its own privacy policy. Dawn receives only an anonymous receipt on the device confirming the subscription is active. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details.

Device permissions Dawn asks for

Both are optional. The app works fully without them.

Children

Dawn is used by people of all ages, including children. Because Dawn collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. There is nothing for a parent to request, review, or delete from us, because everything lives on the family's own device.

What we would need to change to ever collect data

This policy describes the app as it is built. If a future version ever added a feature that sends data off the device, that feature would be optional, explained in plain language before it is turned on, and this policy would be updated first, with the effective date above changed.
